Meet our Team: Whitney Baubie


Whitney Baubie provides a broad range of litigation and transactional services for corporations and individuals. She focuses her practice on general business matters with a specialty in representing physicians and health care practices.

Ms. Baubie routinely counsels and represents clients regarding business formation matters, contracting matters, real-estate, employment and corporate transactional matters and litigates in Michigan courts. As a specialist in health care law and related regulations, Ms. Baubie frequently advises clients regarding physician/practice/hospital regulations, privacy and security, and prepares and negotiates the necessary legal documents.
Before joining Rickard & Associates, P.C., Ms. Baubie was in-house corporate counsel to Meridian Health Plan, Inc. in Detroit. At Meridian, she served as counsel regarding general corporate matters, health care law, and transactional work, including negotiation of corporate contracts, drafting of real estate documentation and preparing business policies and procedures. Additionally, she gained wide breath of experience in regulatory, compliance, and employment research. 
At Wayne State University Law School, Ms. Baubie competed in the Wayne Law Transactional Law Competition and placed first in the competition. She then competed in the National Transactional LawMeets® Competition against other law schools in the region. She also served as an advisor and a chairperson of the competition during her third year of law school.
Additionally, she worked as a student attorney at the Wayne Law Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic, which partnered with the Karmanos Cancer Center to provide legal services for indigent patients. She also served as Master of Ritual of the Delta Theta Phi Professional Law Fraternity and was a member of the Health Care Law student organization.
Ms. Baubie received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
Ms. Baubie is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
