Health systems that have started charging for patient messages have seen a decline in messages to doctors.

This has both benefits and disadvantages.

Physicians were swamped trying to respond to online consultation questions, however, now patients are complaining about vagueness about guidelines and problems with getting quick answers.

During the pandemic, many practices saw a 50% increase in online messaging.

If you are messaging and billing for it, make sure that you are billing appropriately.

And as always, make sure that your compliance and security are up to date and effective.

Make sure that you have a complete and current list of any and all devices used to access patient data.

Ensure that you are utilizing encryption appropriately and have necessary safeguards in place to protect data.

If you need help with your safeguards and policies and procedures, contact Rickard & Associates today.
